About Calvary Lutheran
Calvary Lutheran is a free Lutheran congregation in downtown Everett, Washington, and is a member of the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations (AFLC), who are confessional (Book of Concord) Lutheran congregations, and believe the congregation, guided by God’s Word and Holy Spirit, is the right form of Church polity in this world.
Our mission at Calvary Lutheran is to worship Christ in spirit and in truth (John 4:24), to grow in faith and holiness through the study and application of God’s Word in our daily living (Romans 12:2), and to share the gospel with our neighbors in Everett and in the world (Matthew 28:19-20).
We invite you to come and worship God and Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior with us. We have a traditional worship service, with a practical and simple liturgy. Grow strong in God’s Word, and know that you too have eternal life.
Statement of Faith
We believe in the full authority and inerrancy of Scripture as God’s Holy Word for us, that the Bible is the only norm for faith and life, and that Jesus Christ is our only Savior (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). We believe that no person can obtain forgiveness of sin and righteousness before God (Justification) by our own merits, works, or satisfactions, but that we receive forgiveness of sin and become righteous before God by grace for Christ’s sake, through faith, when we believe that Christ suffered for us and that for His sake our sin is forgiven (Book of Concord, art. iv).
